Bio
Demet is a PhD candidate in Linguistics. As a researcher, she works on sign language grammar and gestures. As a graduate academic, she facilitates workshops to support students doing community-engaged work and contributes to Ginsberg's workshop curriculum development.
Demet is passionate about public outreach to make research and science accessible beyond academia, and giving back to communities that play a vital role in making research possible in the first place by participating in it. In her free time, Demet enjoys gaming, baking, and embroidery.
