Ginsberg Transpo is a University car sharing service that provides students participating in community engaged programs and activities through the Ginsberg Center with U-M owned vehicles to drive to community sites.
Ginsberg Transpo offers:
- Reliable Transportation — Vehicles are new and well maintained
- Incentives to Carpool — U-M covers insurance for the driver & all passengers
- U-M Covers Cost & Support — Free gas for affiliated programs, maintenance, U-M campus parking, & roadside assistance

Instructions to reserve Ginsberg Transpo vehicles:
1. JOIN a program, activity, or SSO that is affiliated with the Ginsberg Center
2. ENROLL in the Ginsberg Transportation Canvas Course. Complete the necessary modules - including successfully answering the quiz questions and policy acknowledgement.
3. SUBMIT a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) request through the University, which approves you to drive a University vehicle. Instructions are included in the Canvas course if you have not already completed this process.
4. REQUEST a vehicle reservation through the LSA Rideshare App. (You will not be able to request a vehicle until you have completed the course AND the MVR.)
6. RECEIVE a "reservation approved" confirmation email with your vehicle assignment details
