Alimatou Sarr is an MPP student with an interest in foreign languages and migration policy. A graduate of UM-Flint, Alimatou spearheaded civic and democratic engagement efforts as part of Turn Up Turnout. Since graduating, she traveled to Jordan to study Arabic as a Critical Language Scholar. During this interim period, she also served as a Legislative Aide in the Michigan House of Representatives. In this role, she mediated issues between constituents and state agencies and advocated alongside Michiganders calling for policy solutions. Alimatou now looks forward to returning to the University of Michigan, as a member of the Student Advisory Board, and collaborating with her peers on important community engagement initiatives at The Ginsberg Center.
