Explore Connect2Community On Your Own

Connect2Community is an online portal where you can find volunteer opportunities in Southeast Michigan. Use it to discover ways to engage that match your interests and skills to community-identified priorities. You can browse and filter listings from dozens of organizations, whether you're looking for yourself or for a group. 

Follow the steps below to create an account:

  1. Go to: https://connect2community.umich.edu/user/login/ 
  2. Log in with your UM uniqname and password
  3. Follow the directions on the screen to select causes that you're passionate about! 
  4. Click on "Opportunities" on the left of your screen, and start searching!
  5. Filter the opportunities based on your interests and explore tips for finding the right opportunity.
  6. Respond to the volunteer opportunity using the instructions on the post individually or organize a team. 
  7. Once you volunteer, you can log your hours on Connect2Community, and generate an exportable volunteer résumé.

Volunteer Connectors offer free, one-on-one peer support to help you find volunteer and service opportunities that match your interests, schedule, and skills. Meet with a trained student Connector to explore options and find the right fit. Come meet with a Volunteer Connector for 30 minutes to:

  1. Figure out what kind of volunteer work actually fits your interests and goals.
  2. Explore volunteering opportunities through Connect2Community and other Ginsberg resources.
  3. Match opportunities to your real schedule and capacity.
