The Ginsberg Center is excited to be a key partner in a cross-campus effort focused on combating social isolation and loneliness at U-M and across the country. The Impact Institute for Social Prescribing is one of 10 Impact Institutes funded by University of Michigan’s Office of Research, and will be co-led by Mark Clague, Executive Director of the U-M Arts Initiative and Professor of Music, and Lindsey Mortenson, Executive Director of UHC SL and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Medical School.
The Social Prescribing Institute seeks to reimagine well-being and will design, study, and scale a comprehensive social prescribing program that empowers professionals to connect people with meaningful community experiences. Ginsberg will be supporting the ServiceRx component to match students with local volunteer and community engagement opportunities. Other components include ArtsRx, NatureRx and MovementRx, to name a few.
