Community Leadership Fellows
Bio
Maya is an undergraduate student in the Environment program specializing in environmental health and toxicology. As a Community Leadership Fellow, Maya works with the Washtenaw County Health Department on a project to improve community awareness of food safety and accessibility during emergencies via the creation of guidelines, educational materials, and community collaboration. Maya is passionate about reducing health disparities, improving health through upstream interventions, protecting the environment, and community-led innovation. In her free time, Maya paints(watercolor/acrylic), reads/reviews(history/goodreads), and takes long walks(trees!).
