Siddarth Kaushik, a recent U-M alumnus and an America Reads tutorthrough the Ginsberg Center, received recognition from Ann Arbor Public Schools for his efforts to improve students’ literacy skills.
For Siddarth, his three semesters spent working with Logan Elementary students provided “a place where students can grow and I’m really grateful to be a part of.” The School's Building Literacy coach, Hillary Wooley shared: “Siddarth is a favorite among the students because he is helpful, kind, caring, and radiates positivity. Siddarth is an exceptional tutor.”
In the fall of 1997, the Ginsberg Center co-founded U-M’s chapter of the America Reads Tutoring Corps. The work-study program allows college students to help tutor elementary students, helping them build literacy skills and discover the joys of reading.
