The Engaged Pedagogy Initiative (EPI) was highlighted as an exemplary public humanities program by the National Humanities Alliance (NHA) in its training report, Approaches to Training in the Public Humanities.
How can community organizations tell compelling stories of their impact when they’re too busy making an impact? This question prompted the Ginsberg Center to launch Storytelling for Social Change (SFSC) in Summer 2022 to to help community organizations with projects like story banks and creating social media content that can set up organizations for success through sharing their message, reaching out to their communities, and securing funding.
We are pleased to announce that Nicole Springer is the new Editor-in-Chief of the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning, published and supported by the Ginsberg Center.
Over the years, many U-M student organizations have engaged in volunteering with public schools, libraries, and community nonprofits to provide tutoring and academic support to K-12 youth. To support campus and community partners working with K-12 Schools, Ginsberg Center’s AmeriCorps VISTA member Christina France led the development of Do Good Well K-12 Support Volunteer Handbook.
Midterm Elections are in just a few weeks, and the Ginsberg team is part of a campus-wide coalition working towards the highest midterm student voter turnout that the University of Michigan has seen yet!
