Stephanie supports student organizations in leadership development through positive community engagement. She builds relationships with students across campus to enhance their goals for social action and community engagement while meeting community identified needs. Stephanie manages the Ginsberg Alternative Break Grant process and provides consultation and training to student groups involved in Alternative Breaks. She also serves as the advisor for the University of Michigan Active Citizens Alternative Spring Break Program. Additionally, she works to enhance the student experience at Ginsberg by leading initiatives for community building and information sharing among students engaged with the Ginsberg Center.
Stephanie began working at the Ginsberg Center in the fall of 2016 as graduate student intern in SERVE and became a full time staff member in September 2018. She holds a Master of Social Work from U of M and a Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in Public Relations and Leadership. In undergrad, Stephanie was involved with Alternative Breaks, a school-based mentoring program, and a variety of nonprofits working to address local community needs. In graduate school, she worked at the Ann Arbor YMCA to advance equitable access to service-learning opportunities for teens across Washtenaw County while leading the Youth Volunteer Corps. She attributes all of her experiences to her passion for building meaningful partnerships that drive collective action towards social justice.
In her free time, Stephanie enjoys chasing the pursuit for the best local latte, capturing photos, going on walks, reflecting, yoga and connecting with family and friends. In addition to her work at Ginsberg, Stephanie is currently a member of the Central Michigan University Volunteer Center Alumni Affinity Board and engaged in various community driven projects.
