Maria assists the Ginsberg Center with finances, HR, and care of the building. She enjoys working with Student Life for various events put on around campus and being involved in recycling efforts around Ann Arbor. Maria began working at the University in 2000 and started her work at Ginsberg in 2010. Maria completed her Bachelor degree in Social Psychology in Venezuela. After moving to Michigan, she holds a Master of Arts in Education of Psychology at Eastern Michigan University. In her free time, Maria enjoys gardening and reading. Her activity in Ann Arbor is Top of the Park, exploring downtown, walking through Gallup Park, and going to the Farmer’s Market. Maria is passionate about learning about other cultures, learning about discrimination, and creating social change in the community.
What do you love most about your job?
“I love using current technology, utilizing problem solving skills, and teaching staff new things. In addition, being able to share knowledge and network with others who have similar interests.”
What is one piece of advice you wish you had when you were in college?
“Try to experience what you’re studying, test out the waters to make sure that it’s for you. It’s important to see what your career is going to realistically look like. This time is a wonderful chance to open doors to possibilities for the future.”
