My name is Casey Tin and I am from New York City, New York. I am a sophomore here at the University of Michigan studying Computer Science. Although I am not currently involved with any organizations here on campus, I plan to participate in several student groups, including Active Minds, which aims to combat stigmas associated with mental health disorders, and oSTEM, which is a group that provides opportunities and resources for members of the LGBTQ+ community that are seeking careers in STEM fields. Some of my favorite hobbies and activities include visiting art museums, drawing in my sketchbook, and reading. I am passionate about environmentalism, mental health stigma and justice within the LGBTQ+ community. At Ginsberg, I hope to guide others to the many resources and opportunities that they have to give back to their greater community; through this, I would like to contribute to my community as well. I am also hoping to gain a deeper insight on other social justice issues that I may not be as informed about.
