America Reads Graduate Assistant
Alison is a 2nd year Master's student in Health Behavior and Health Education in the School of Public Health. She is from Grand Rapids, MI and is a vegetarian and loves cooking, reading and being outdoors. She is passionate about health literacy and equitable sexual health education and hopes to gain a deeper understanding of the work that goes in to managing a large program like America Reads this year. Alison is working as the Graduate Assistant for America Reads through the Ginsberg Center. She is also a research assistant in the Neurology Department working on projects involving the elderly community in Flint, MI and on stroke preparedness in Flint. She has worked with Michigan Organization on Adolescent Sexual Health as an intern and health educator over the summer.
