Participant Expectations
Participants are the foundation of Pangea World Service Team and the people that make it all happen!
Responsibilities and Expectations
General
- Being an open-minded, flexible, and productive team member
- HAVING FUN!
Education
- Attend all bi-weekly E&T meetings during Fall and Winter semesters
- Attend all team meetings
- Participate in daily reflections and group activities during the trip
- Develop necessary skills over the course of the year (open communication, flexibility, accountability, conflict resolution)
- Educate yourself on the trip issue area and other related areas, such as community awareness and entering/exiting communities
Finance
- Keep up with the payment schedule
- Keep Lead team informed if financial problems arise (i.e. won’t be able to make payment on time)
Fundraising
- Participate in all fundraising efforts
- Share all possible fundraising ideas!!
Alcohol and drug use and possession on any UM-PWST trip is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN due to University policy, liability and legal issues, respect for the members of your group, and most importantly the individuals and organizations with whom we are working during the summer break. If you are found with alcohol or drugs, you will immediately be asked to leave your group and travel home at your own expense.
