NASST: Be a Site Leader

Be a Site Leader

Two enthusiastic site leaders will be placed on each site, determined by their preference. The site leaders are students that are in leadership positions, and will be, in effect, taking over from us as a leadership team once the trips get set to leave. It is the Site Leaders responsibility to ensure that the participants are aware of issues they may encounter when in the community and also will have had the proper education and training in order to be a productive participant. Site leaders work closely with their participants and with the NASST Lead Team in fundraising, education, and discussion in the semester before the trip. Site Leaders are also a liaison between site contacts and the group and are responsible for relaying messages to the group that the site contact may want them to know before entering their community. Site leaders will be trained to be responsible for their participants, while still remaining a peer and a volunteer. All the site leaders with be chosen by the board in order to assure that they are right for the position. It will require great responsibility, but also be extremely rewarding and much different than being a participant.

  • Abide by the Drug and Alcohol policy and be ready to enforce it whenever necessary.

Alcohol and Drug Policy

Cost

The cost per participant is $125.  This includes site leaders.
