Leadership Opportunities
SERVE is a student-run university program that works to involve students in community service and social action by providing volunteer information and placement opportunities, alternative break experiences, and issue-based education and awareness. Students who care about issues in the community, are committed to student involvement in those issues, and want to be surrounded with other students who feel the same way find themselves at home in SERVE. The SERVE Board is comprised of 6 leadership teams that each have primary responsibility for a specific program and that work together to provide overall direction to SERVE.
There are some general requirements that all SERVE Board members must commit to. These include:
- Attending SERVE Board Meetings every Thursday from 5:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Attending the SERVE Board weekend retreat in early September (exact times, TBA)
- Attending their individual team's weekly meetings at a time decided upon by the team.
- Documenting all important activities to allow for a successful transition.
