East Michigan Environmental Action Council:

East Michigan Environmental Action Council (EMEAC) began as a response in the 1960's to environmental concerns in southeast Michigan. They have been working in the legislature, courts, township halls and schools. EMEAC played a role in the enactment of most of Michigan's environmental laws. EMEAC has used those laws in court to protect air and water quality, wetlands, natural areas, farmlands and wildlife. AW volunteers will be working at the EMEAC office located in a Detroit area elementary school.  Volunteers work with elementary students on project like measuring air and water quality.

Center for the Homeless:

The Center for the Homeless is not a traditional homeless center. Their focus is on providing not just life-saving, but life-changing services to each of our guests. Their innovative service model offers homeless families and individuals an on-site structured, step-by-step process to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. This mission unites all members of the Center community in a common endeavor. Because of the depth and severity of the condition of homelessness, no less than a focused and concerted effort can bring lasting change into the lives of their guests.
