Applying to be a Peer Facilitator
The Application Process
- Fill out and submit an online application:
- Interview with Project Community staff.
- An interview with the site contact may also be required, depending on the site.
Candidates will be considered on the basis of their written applications, the comments of their references, and the interview or previous program performance (the latter depending on if the student is a first-time or returning applicant). If an interview with the site contact is required, the site contact's opinion will weigh heavily on the decision as well.
NOTE: If you have previously facilitated a SOC 389 seminar and would like to return to facilitate the same or a different section, you must apply by completing the written application for return facilitators.
When to Apply
While applications are accepted on a rolling basis, it is best to apply during "backpacking", or pre-registration, for the term in which you would like to facilitate. However, applications will be accepted until just prior to the facilitator training (usually a few days before the term begins), or until all positions are filled.
NOTE: Students who plan to be abroad during the registration period should plan ahead and interview before leaving campus, if possible. Contact the Project Community office for details.
