1. Make sure you are eligible. Are you:

• A U.S. citizen, U.S. national or lawful permanent resident of the United States?
• At least 17 years of age at the start of the service period?
• Have a high school diploma or an equivalency certificate?

2. Have you previously served as an AmeriCorps or VISTA volunteer?

    Note: Members combined service in either program cannot extend more than three years. During

    third year of membership, the AmeriCorps volunteer is not eligible for an educational award.

3.  Request a current AmeriCorps member application by contacting MAP Program Director Addell Austin Anderson at addell@umich.edu . Your completed application will be forwarded to relevant Partner Sites. If interested, a representative of the site will contact you for an interview.
