Our School and Community Partners
To assure successful implementation of the program, partnerships are formed with area school districts where:
- Children will benefit from additional academic support.
- Teachers are able to support and work with tutors.
- Administrators are interested in working together and sharing responsibilities with America Reads.
The community's demographics in which our school partners are located differ greatly from those of the Ann Arbor community. We work with tutors to help them grapple with the challenges and eye-opening experiences created by crossing race and class bourdaries. We are committed to making America Reads a reflective, mindful experience for all tutors.
