The Ginsberg Center Director's Message
Welcome to a view of the Ginsberg Center through our website. We invite you to join us in learning through community service and civic engagement. We offer support for faculty, students and student organizations, and community partners in integrating service and civic engagement into courses, research projects, extracurricular activities, and organizational initiatives.
Through programs that reside in the Ginsberg Center, students can engage in community service and learning through tutoring for America Reads, joining the Michigan AmeriCorps Partnership, or volunteering through one of several student-led programs through SERVE. Faculty, students, and community partners can share their public scholarship in the arts and humanities through Arts of Citizenship. Students can enroll in a Sociology course, Project Community, where they engage in community service with one of numerous community organizations.
We envision a University where community service and civic engagement are embedded in teaching and research and where every student has opportunities to participate in service that advances the student's education and the community partner's agenda. We believe that service and civic engagement enrich education, build community capacity, inspire new ideas, and strengthen society. We look forward to working with you to realize this vision!
