Bio
LaTara McLemore is a Ph.D candidate in the English Language and Literature program, housed in the English Department. As an Engaged Learning Graduate Consultant, LaTara facilitates workshops to prepare and support students doing community-engaged work. A former 12th grade English teacher and very proud Chicago native, LaTara is invested in integrating responsive teaching practices and methods of critical care into her classroom operations and culture--investments which are foundational to her work as a Graduate Consultant. When she's not going for long walks or baking too many cookies to eat on her own, you can find LaTara busily writing her dissertation.
