As the Academic Partnerships Manager, Jessica (she/her) develops Ginsberg’s classroom-based workshop curriculum, creates faculty development resources, manages the Engaged Learning Graduate Consultants (a team of doctoral students who facilitate workshops and support other Center projects), and consults with academic partners across campus interested in community engagement.
Jessica earned a Ph.D in English Literature from Michigan State University. While there, she was involved in community-engaged projects focusing on art, disability, and medicine; she also taught over a dozen English and humanities courses. She comes to Ginsberg from Albion College, where she was the Associate Director for Community-Based Learning and then a Visiting Assistant Professor in the English Department. Her approach to community engagement begins with actually being part of her communities, and Jessica is deeply involved with her local NAACP chapter, community garden, historical society, and LBGTQIA+ group. She is excited about integrating equitable, thoughtful, reciprocal, and just community engagement into higher education.
Outside the Ginsberg Center, Jessica enjoys going on long walks with her dogs, reading, swimming, and working on her house.
